One of most admired actress in Indian cinema and first female superstar of Bollywood, actress Sridevi passed away on Saturday night after a sudden heart attack. Her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor has confirmed this news. Sridevi was 54. Her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi were with her at the time of death. Sridevi passed away in Dubai while she went with her family to attend the wedding ceremony of Mohit Marwah.

Sridevi was born as “Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan” on 13th August 1963. She began her career in cinema industry by acting in Tamil films during her earlier days. She started to appear in her first film at the age of 4 as a child artist. Her first film was “Thunaivan” in Tamil where she performed as a child artist. Sridevi had worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films before debuting in Hindi films and grew up to be one of the biggest female stars India ever had. The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in the year 2013.
Sridevi, Bollywood diva not only won hearts of millions with her films like Chandni, Lamhe, Mr India, Nagina and more in the 1990’s, but she also continued winning accolades in her second innings with films like English Vinglish. She was last seen in 2017 film MOM. Her daughter Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut this year with Karan Johar’s directorial Dhadak.
